Abstract
Nucleophelic substitution of dialkyl (E)-2-bromomethylene glutarates 2 by m agnesium dialkyl cuprates generated in situ provided a regio and highly ste reoselective methodology for the synthesis of dialkyl 3-alkylidene glutarat es 3 in good yields.
