Syntheses of (eta (6)-diarene)T-II(AlCl4)(2) complexes were performed by th
e Fischer-Hafner method. The diarenes employed were biphenyl and 3,5,3',5'-
tetramethyl-biphenyl. In each of the resulting complexes, (eta (6)-C12H10)T
i-II(AlCl4)(2) (1) and (eta (6)-C16H18)Ti-II(AlCl4)(2) (2), only one C-6-ri
ng of a diarene is coordinatively active. 1: Space group Pbca, Z=8, lattice
