Abstract
For an operator weighted shift S, the essential spectrum sigma (e)(S) and t he indices associated with holes in sigma (e)(S) are described. Moreover, B anach reducibility of S is investigated and a condition for S* to be a Cowe n-Douglas operator is characterized.
