We studied the allelopathic effects of 4 polyphenols viz., ellagic and gall
ic acids, (+)-catechin and pyrogallol released from Myriophyllum spicatum o
n the growth of cyanobacterium Microcystis aeruginosa. It was found that 4-
polyphenols together caused 17-100% allelopathic effect of M spicatum on M
aeruginosa.
