A new method for the preparation of a DNA modified carbon paste electrode h
as been developed and its electrochemical behavior has been investigated. I
t is found that 6-mercapto-purine(B-MP) can be accumulated onto this electr
ode surface. This electrode has been used for the determination of 6-MP by
differential pulse voltammetry; The linear range is between 5.0 x 10(-6) an
d 8.0 x 10(-5) mol/L, with a detection limit of 2.0 x 10(-6) mol/L. The rel
ative standard deviation is 3.6% for eight successive determinations of 2.0
x 10(-5) mol/L 6-MP. The determination of 6-MP tablets was also carried ou
t and satisfactory results have been obtained.
