Abstract
This note presents the development of a scale-up correlation of single-phas e axial dispersion coefficients in both batch and continuous oscillatory ba ffled flow systems. A hydraulic diameter is introduced to relate axial disp ersion coefficients for various baffle geometry, including close-fit and lo ose-fit baffles, Karr plate and multiperforated plate, and various rates. T he significance of this note is that the mixing characteristic in oscillato ry flow devices is linear.
