Abstract
Treatment of [Cp*Ir(mu -SH)(3)IrCp*]Cl (Cp* = eta (5)-C5Me5) with acrylonit rile and NEt3 in MeCN or ClCH2CH2Cl gave [Cp*Ir(mu -SCH2CH2CN)(3)IrCp*](+), [Cp*Ir(mu -S)(mu -SCH2CH2CN)(2)IrCp*] (3), or [Cp*Ir(mu -SCH2CH2CN)(2)(mu -SCH2CH2Cl)IrCp*](+), depending upon the conditions employed. From the reac tion of 3 with [(Cp*Ru)(4)(mu -Cl)(4)], a sulfido-thiolato cluster [Cp*3RuI r2(mu (3)-S)(mu -SCH2CH2CN)(2)Cl] was obtained.
