Abstract
Macrocyclic amine thiophenolate ligands are shown to form face-sharing bioc tahedral nickel complexes with a central N3Ni(mu -SR)(2)(mu -Cl)NiN3 core s tructure. The bridging halide ion can be readily replaced when all six nitr ogen atoms are tertiary amine donors.
