Abstract
Iron(III) perchlorate catalyzed cyclodimerization of trans-anethole gave tr ans, anti, trans-cyclobutane stereospecifically in good yield. Alumina supp orted iron(III) perchlorate was an especially efficient one-electron oxidat ion reagent.
