Leiomyosarcoma of the arteria lienalis

Leiomyosarcomas of vascular origin are a very rare group of tumors developi ng from smooth vascular muscle cells. The most common location are in large vessels, e.g. vena cava, saphenous vein or pulmonary artery, but fewer tha n 200 cases are reported in the literature. We report a case of a patient w ith a leiomyosarcoma, of the splenic artery. This location has not been des cribed previously.
