Bs. Shin et al., Sensitive micro-sample analysis of bisphenol A in serum by high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection, CHROMATOGR, 53(11-12), 2001, pp. 669-672
A rapid and sensitive HPLC method with fluorescence detection has been deve
loped for the micro-sample analysis of bisphenol A in rat serum. Compounds
were separated on a Spherisorb C-18 analytical column with acetonitrile-0.1
% triethylamine in deionized water, 51:46 (v/ v), as mobile phase. Bispheno
l A was isolated by one-step extraction with dichloromethane. The calibrati
on plot was linear(r = 0.999) over the concentration range 1-1000 ng mL(-1)
. The limits of detection and quantitation were 0.2 ng mL(-1) and 1 ng mL(-
1), respectively, for 100-muL serum samples. The assay was successfully use
d for a pharmacokinetic study after intravenous administration of a low dos
e (0.1 mg kg(-1)) of bisphenol A to rats.
