Abstract
This paper describes a novel type of rechargeable lithium polymer battery b ased on the combination of a nanocomposite electrolyte and a cathode of the phospho-olivine family. The results demonstrate features, in terms of powe r capability and cyclability, largely exceeding those so far reported for c onventional lithium polymer batteries. These unique performances make this battery suitable for electric vehicle application. (C) 2001 The Electrochem ical Society.
