Abstract
Solvation of lithium ions in organic electrolyte solutions, ethylene carbon ate (EC), propylene carbonate (PC), and gamma -butyrolactone (GBL) containi ng LiClO4, for lithium batteries was studied by electrospray ionization-mas s spectroscopy (ESI-MS). The mass spectrograms showed that a lithium ion so lvated with two or three solvent molecules. (C) 2001 The Electrochemical So ciety.
