Abstract
We report on non-local-spin-density functional calculations for ferrom agnetic nickel using the first principle linear muffin tin orbital (LM TO) method in the atomic sphere approximation (ASA). Fermi surface are as and their pressure dependence are calculated using the Langreth and Mehl (LM) and Perdew and Wang (PW) exchange correlation potentials. T hese improved density functionals do not give a significant improvemen t of the Fermi surface properties.
