A defense in depth approach to radiation protection for I-125 production activities

Not all operational radiation protection situations lend themselves to simp le solutions. Often a Radiation Protection Program must be developed and im plemented for difficult situations. A defense in depth approach to radiatio n protection vas developed for I-125 production activities. Defense in dept h relies on key radiation protection elements that tend to be mutually supp ortive and in combination provide reasonable assurance that the overall des ired level of protection has been provided. For difficult situations, defen se in depth can provide both a reasonable and appropriate approach to radia tion protection.
