Abstract
Nanometer-sized tetragonal Zr1-xCexO2-delta powders were prepared by hydrox ide precipitation and sol-gel processing. The effects of get-aging time and solution concentration on the phase composition and particle size of the p owders were studied. The ceramics prepared by sintering ultrafine powders a t 1500 degreesC had a density of similar or equal to6.0 g/cm(3), open poros ity of similar or equal to4%, and closed porosity below 1%.
