Abstract
The selective synthesis of 1-methyl-1H-4-histamine (1) and 1-methyl-1H-5-hi stamine (2) via 5-oxo-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroimidazo[1,5-c]pyrimidine (3) from c ommercially available histamine hydrochloride salt is described.
