Abstract
The cathodic behaviour of a wide variety of tetra alkylammonium halides was studied at a polished palladium cathode in aprotic dimethylformanaide. Cou lometric and electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance analyses demonstra ted the formation of clusters whose stoichiometry was determined, attesting to the reversible insertion of cations and anions belonging to the electro lyte into the metallic bulk.
