Abstract
The automatic selection of mobile phases for thin-layer chromatography (TLC ) on silica of the two groups of compounds mentioned in the title of this p aper was done by the LSChrom software, which is based on the Snyder theory and chromatographic properties of the compositional functional groups of ea ch compound. Thus, the recommended mobile phase strength epsilon was 0.344 for the tetrahydroisoquinolines and 0.331 for the tetrahydroisoquinolinones . and narrow ranges around these values. The software enabled selection of 14 mobile phases having such values of epsilon. The experimental R-F values found on two silicas with all mobile phases recommended by the software we re in the range 0.01-0.88, showing the correctness of the automatic predict ions for the polyfunctional compounds studied.
