Abstract
The Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters for f - f transitions of Er3+ ions in P MMA-PAAc copolymer samples were determined from optical absorption measurem ents, and their dependence on the erbium content investigated within the ra nge of 1-3.0 mol%. The densities, refractive indices and emission spectra h ave been measured. For our Er3+-doped PMMA-PAAc samples an effective energy transfer between the copolymer host and the erbium ions is observed and di scussed. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
