Abstract
Metal-mediated cross-coupling of alkynes has been applied for the firs t time to C-C bond formation in Subphthalocyanines. Triiodosubphthaloc yanine 1 was reacted with the corresponding terminal alkyne in the pre sence of bis[triphenylphosphine]palladium (II) dichloride and copper ( I) iodide to give the corresponding highly conjugated alkynyl subphtha locyanines 2-5 in 25-30% yield.
