Abstract
In the June 29, 2001, issue of Cell, Wang et al. report the discovery of my ocardin, a cardiac and smooth muscle-specific accessory factor for SRF. Thi s work provides insight into the mechanism of cardiac-specific transcriptio n and suggests the importance of myocardin in early cardiac development.
