In the present paper we examine photon-added coherent states under the inte
raction described by the time-dependent Hamiltonian of a degenerate paramet
ric amplifier. The resulting state is employed to calculate the wave functi
on and to obtain the photon-number distribution. Particular attention is pa
id to quasiprobability distribution functions (Wigner W-function and Husimi
Q-function). The squeezing. phenomenon and the Glauber second-order correl
ation function are also examined.
