Abstract
Zn dust-mediated Friedel-Crafts sulfonylation of aromatic compounds with p- toluenesulfonyl chloride was carried out to give corresponding sulfones in good yields. Isolation of pure products by simple filtration and evaporatio n is an important: feature of this method.
