Abstract
The expeditious solventless synthesis of 3-[5 ' -alkyl-1 '3 '4-thiadiazol-2 -yl]-4-phenyl/hydroxy-2-thiazolothiones is described from readily accessibl e 2-amino-5-alkyl-1,3,4-thiadiazoles on basic alumina that are accelerated by exposure to microwaves.
