Abstract
An ionic complex has been obtained from N2O4 in the presence of the macrocy clic ether 18-crown-6. This crystalline compound was used as an effective o xidizing agent for the oxidation of dihydropyridines to their corresponding pyridine derivatives at room temperature with excellent yields.
