Abstract
Trinitratocerium(IV) bromate (TNCB) was prepared by the reaction of cerium( IV) ammonium nitrate (CAN) with sodium bromate. The: oxidizing ability of t his compound was observed in the oxidation of benzyl alcohols and acyloins to the corresponding carbonyl compounds.
