Abstract
Different types of polycyclic alpha -amino acid derivatives are prepared fr om chiral imines by using well-established aza-Diels-Alder reaction conditi ons. Simply by varying the diene moiety, different products such as spirocy clic compounds 8 and 9, anthracene 10, and tetrahydroquinolines 15-21 are f ormed. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd.
