Abstract
There is accumulating evidence that aberrant transcriptional regulation is involved in neurodegenerative disorders associated with expanded polyglutam ines, Recent work on the coactivator CREB-binding protein suggests that tra nscription factors containing a normal polyglutamine stretch might be redis tributed to nuclear inclusions and cytoplasmic aggregates, resulting in cel lular toxicity.
