N. Thuaud et al., PREPARATION OF CHIRAL STATIONARY PHASES BY GRAFTING BETA-CD DERIVATIVES ON POLYVINYLIMIDAZOLE COATED SILICA, European Polymer Journal, 33(7), 1997, pp. 1015-1020
Several beta-cyclodextrin (beta-CD) chiral stationary phases (CSP) for
HPLC were prepared, from silica beads coated with polyvinylimidazole
(PVI). The functionalization carried out by reaction with 3-chloro-2-h
ydroxypropyl beta-CD, gave rise to supports with varying content of be
ta-CD cavities. The influence of the amount of beta-CD and of the aver
age molecular weight of PVI on the resolution of D,L-methionine beta-n
aphthylamide are studied for optimization. Results are compared to tho
se obtained with a stationary phase prepared by coating silica with a
beta-CD containing PVI preformed polymer. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Lt
