H. Borsdorf et al., Rapid on-site determination of chlorobenzene in water samples using ion mobility spectrometry, ANALYT CHIM, 440(1), 2001, pp. 63-70
A fast screening procedure for water samples contaminated with chlorobenzen
e was developed. The volatile organic compounds were purged from water samp
les and their concentration was determined with ion mobility spectrometry (
IMS) using corona discharge (CD) ionization. This analytical procedure perm
its the determination of chlorobenzene with a concentration range of 3-30 m
g/l. The analytical results are available within 5 min. In order to test th
e general suitability of the method developed, the influence of sample matr
ix, especially of accompanying chlorinated aromatics, on ion mobility spect
ra of chlorobenzene was investigated. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All ri
