Many molecules of farmacological interest could not have been studied for t
he classical electrochemical technical due to the great complexity that the
y present when they are submitted to voltammetric processes. An electrochem
ical method for quantifying betalactam antibiotic (amoxicillin) is describe
d. Cyclic voltammetry at the water/nitrobenzene interface in a four-electro
de system is used. The zwitterion compound was ionized to the necessary ele
ctrochemical form by pH adjustment. The ionized antibiotic is studied by vo
ltammetric transfer since water to nitrobenzene using the method of the int
erface between two immiscible electrolyte solutions (ITIES).
