Abstract
Cystic fibrosis is a disorder of exocrine glands inherited in autosomal rec essive fashion and characterized by thickened, viscid secretions that lead to multisystem dysfunction and failure. This article examines various issue s relating to cystic fibrosis, including molecular and genetic consideratio ns, pathophysiology and clinical presentation, fertility and pregnancy, and carrier screening.
