Abstract
Rumination occurs frequently in children and adolescents with eating d isorders, but few studies or case reports consider rumination an assoc iated symptom. Fewer address related treatment issues. The authors des cribe successful treatment of rumination in a 16-year-old female adole scent using postmeal chewing gum. Rumination should be considered in y oungsters with bulimia or anorexia nervosa, and approaches to its trea tment should be studied.
