A theoretical model has been developed to study the effect of magnetic
-field-dependent and anisotropic screenings on the longitudinal resist
ivity in n-type Hg0.8Cd0.2Te in the extreme quantum limit at low tempe
ratures, taking into consideration different scattering mechanisms, vi
z. deformation potential acoustic phonon, ionized impurity, and alloy
disorder. Other complexities, such as band nonparabolicity and nonequi
partition of phonons, have been included in the calculation. The theor
etically obtained values of the resistivity for magnetic-field-depende
nt and anisotropic screening have been compared with the classical cas
e and also with the experimental results. The agreement with the exper
imental results improves when the effect of magnetic-field-dependent s
creening is taken into account.
