On March 13, 2001, the Harvard Journal on Legislation held a public symposi um addressing the debate surrounding proposals to reform punitive damages, both at the state and national levels. This piece discusses the primary are as of disagreement with respect to punitive damages, followed by a brief su mmary of the opening remarks of each panelist at the symposium.
