On the problem of conductivity and permeability in a porous medium

The problem of charge and mass transport in porous water- saturated media i s discussed. Analysis of a simple tube model suggests that the well-known d ifficulties involved in the phenomenological modeling of transport coeffici ents can be alleviated by incorporating the intermittence effect in the geo metry of the porous structure.
