A model of scaling correspondence between fault and Seismic fields in the c
rust based on a multiplicative cascade scheme is examined. The modeling pro
cedure is fully discrete and can be easily implemented as a computer progra
m. Analytical expressions describing the structures of some classes of mult
inomial measures are derived. The model proposed provides a qualitative exp
lanation of the currently known relations between fault and seismic statist
ics and yields a realistic picture of the multiscale organization of a seis
mogenic medium.
