Abstract
Various parvoviruses infect carnivores and can cause disease. In this revie w article the knowledge about infections of free-ranging or captive carnivo res with the feline parvoviruses, feline panleukopenia virus, and canine pa rvovirus, including the. antigenic types CPV-2a and -2b, as well as Aleutia n disease of mink virus and minute virus of canines are summarized. Particu lar emphasis is placed on description of the evolution of canine parvo-viru s which apparent ly involved wild carnivore hosts.
