The influences of various surface treatments on indium-tin-oxide (ITO) anod
es on the performance of OLED devices are investigated by the Taguchi Metho
d. These surface treatments include chemical and mechanical processes under
different conditions. In particular, we find that the chemical treatment p
roducing ultra-smooth ITO film surfaces does not provide the highest effici
ency and luminescence. The implications of the optimized surface treatment
conditions from Taguchi Methods are discussed through device testing. (C) 2
