A. Pipis et al., A hybrid approach for the modelling and simulation of a virtually shared memory parallel computer architecture, MATH COMP S, 57(1-2), 2001, pp. 81-93
Modelling and simulation have been assigned crucial roles in the design, de
velopment, analysis and evaluation of computer architectures. The design of
parallel architectures in particular is a complex and difficult endeavour
that makes modelling and simulation essential tools. In this case, high sim
ulation performance is a prerequisite since, large workloads need to be sim
ulated for a realistic analysis of the parallel system. This paper presents
the approach that has been followed for the modelling and simulation of Pi
SMA, a virtual shared memory parallel architecture, scaleable up to 100 s o
f processors. (C) 2001 IMACS. Published by Elsevier Science B.V. All rights
