Spectral modelling of curved long-period fibre gratings

Curved long-period fibre gratings are described in terms of a new model, ba sed on a matrix method. The variations in the formulation of the main equat ions, which define the spectral behaviour of a long period fibre grating, a re presented. Good agreement between experimental data that had previously been reported and results from the proposed model are obtained.
