In this contribution, the potential of graded-chiral/dielectric absorbers i
s explored theoretically. To this end, two different design procedures are
introduced that allow its to improve single-layer and graded-dielectric Dal
lenbach absorbers. Both design concepts finally lead to graded-chiral/diele
ctric Dallenbach absorbers. The first experiments prove the concept. and al
low its to identify and discuss the effects and problems associated with th
