J. Alexandre et al., Three-dimensional QED with dynamical fermions in an external magnetic field - art. no. 034502, PHYS REV D, 6403(3), 2001, pp. 4502
In this paper, we present results of numerical lattice simulations of two-f
lavor QED in three space-time dimensions. First, we provide evidence that c
hiral symmetry is spontaneously broken in the chiral and continuum limit. N
ext we discuss the role of an external magnetic field B on the dynamically
generated fermion mass. We investigate the B dependence of the condensate t
hrough calculations with dynamical fermions using the noncompact formulatio
n of the gauge field, and compare the results with those of a comparable st
udy using the quenched approximation.
