Abstract
We try to determine to what extent an "axial prolate rotor + 1 or 2 quasipa rticle model" succeeds in describing the transitional odd and odd-odd Ir an d Au nuclei. The relative location of the excited states, as welt as the pr operties of the ground and isomeric states, particularly the magnetic and s pectroscopic quadrupole moments, is compared to the predictions of the mode l.
