Abstract
Extraction of zinc at 298 K with quinoline N-oxide from solutions of alkali metal (Na+, K+, Rb+) bromides with the constant ionic strength (1, 1.5, 2, 3) supported by alkali metal nitrate was studied. The zinc extraction cons tants and the stability constants of its bromide complexes at the given ion ic strengths were calculated. A linear correlation was revealed between the zinc extraction constant and the enthalpy of hydration of the supporting e lectrolyte cation.
