The D-48 is a nonverbal analogies test used as a measure of general intelli
gence, widely known in Europe and other parts of the world, but not the US.
The results of a study with 126 Mexican-American and 139 Anglo-American se
venth graders are presented and these show the D-48 to be reliable, free of
slope or intercept bias, a valid indicator of performance on Stanford Achi
evement subtests and significantly correlated with both achievement and tea
chers' evaluations of intelligence.
