A simple phenomenological model of solute segregation at partially ordered
grain boundaries is proposed. It is consistent with present understanding o
f equilibrium segregation phenomena. The model is used to correlate complex
concentration and temperature dependences of silicon segregation in ordere
d Fe-Si alloys. It also offers a new interpretation of boron segregation in
FeAl base intermetallics as well as interesting consequences of nickel seg
regation in ordered NiAl solid solutions. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. Al
