Abstract
Uptake of bone imaging radiopharmaceuticals in a horse is affected by its a ge, breed, occupation and performance level, and by trauma to its skeleton. The reader's awareness and knowledge of how such factors affect the appear ance of equine bone phase scintigraphs is important to their optimum interp retation. Equine imagers and clinicians are challenged to increase our unde rstanding of correlations between increased uptake locations and patterns, especially mild uptakes and specific skeletal diseases.
