Jl. Rennecker et al., Inactivation of Cryptosporidium parvum oocysts with sequential applicationof ozone and combined chlorine, WATER SCI T, 43(12), 2001, pp. 167-170
Single-step inactivation experiments with ozone and monochloramine revealed
the presence of a CT lag followed by pseudo-first order inactivation kinet
ics. Sequential disinfection experiments with ozone followed by monochloram
ine revealed that ozone pretreatment resulted in the removal of a more prom
inent CT lag observed for monochloramine. In addition, the rate of inactiva
tion for ozone-pretreated oocysts was approximately 2.5x greater than that
observed for the post-lag phase portion of the monochloramine primary inact
ivation curve.
